隨著全球化的發展，觀光已變成每一個國家爭相發展的產業，除了增加工作機會外，也帶來豐厚的外匯收入來活絡整個國家的經濟狀況，本論文先探討為何人類有觀光行為，從人類開始移動、旅遊等進入觀光主題，並以理論為輔，分析觀光業的重要性，再以實證探索觀光的目的、需求、動機、利益及重要性。
古巴是加勒比海的明珠，在地緣政治上占據舉足輕重地位，除了古巴本島外，尚有四千多個大大小小的島嶼。在氣候方面，大部分為熱帶雨林氣候，西南部沿海地區的背風面則為熱帶草原氣候，極適合發展觀光。至於地形，有山區、平原、海岸線，造就了地貌多元的自然資源。在文化方面，人文社會、文化遺產、音樂與美食、名人遺產等，均為觀光重點。本論文以1959年古巴大革命勝利為分水嶺，依時期先進入革命前夕的古巴觀光業，再探究革命後的觀光策略，突顯這兩個時期之間的不同。
從革命前夕，到社會革命，到冷戰時期，到蘇聯解體，最後到美古破冰，古巴觀光業經歷不同階段，而各個階段皆有其不同的困境，但古巴政府終能度過難關。然而，新型冠狀肺炎成為古巴觀光業最大的挑戰，而後疫情時代的古巴觀光業將是另一個研究議題。

With the development of globalization, tourism has become an industry that every country is striving to develop. In addition to increasing job opportunities, it also brings abundant foreign exchange income to activate the economic situation of the entire country. This thesis discusses the tourism perception of why humans have sightseeing behaviors, starting from moving to traveling, etc., analyzes the importance of the tourism industry based on theories, and then uses empirical evidence to explore the purpose, the demand, the motivation, the benefit and the importance of tourism.
Cuba is the pearl of the Caribbean Sea and occupies an important position in geopolitics. In addition to the main island of Cuba, there are more than 4,000 large and small islands. In the aspect of climate, most of areas have a tropical rainforest climate, and the leeward side of the southwestern coast have tropical savanna climate, both very suitable for the development of tourism. As for the terrains, there are mountains, plains, and coastlines, creating natural resources with a diverse topography. The culture, humanity and society, cultural heritage, music, delicacy, celebrity heritage etc., are focus of tourism. This thesis takes the victory of the Cuban Revolution in 1959 as the watershed, analyzes the difference between the tourism industry before and after the Cuban revolution.
From the eve of the revolution, to the social revolution, to the Cold War, to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and finally to the breaking of ice between United States and Cuba; Cuban tourism industry has gone through different stages. Despite having their own dilemmas in each stage, the Cuban government finally has overcome it. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has become the biggest challenge to the Cuban tourism industry; the Cuban tourism industry in the post-epidemic era will be another research topic.
