本論文研究春秋至戰國時期將道及其在當代轉化。研究目的有四：第一，研究春秋至戰國時期戰略環境之變遷，及其對將道轉變之影響。第二，剖析當代戰爭的特徵、發展趨勢，以作為後續春秋至戰國時期將道轉化的基礎。第三，界定將道的定義與指標，以分析春秋至戰國時期兵家、儒家與法家將道的內涵及其轉變。第四，在林毓生創造性轉化的觀點下，針對先秦將道進行創造性轉化。
扣除緒論與結論，本論文共四章。各章節內容概括如下：
第一章分析春秋至戰國時期戰略環境的變遷，以及當代戰爭的特性。分析春秋至戰國時期戰略環境的變遷，除掌握客觀環境的變化外，更可理解此一時期是否有足夠資源，使將道能進行創造性轉化。分析當代戰爭的發展趨勢與特徵，可理解現今環境是否擁有足夠資源，刺激先秦將道產生創造性轉化。
第二章分析春秋時期的將道思想。兵家以《司馬法》與《孫子》為代表。儒家則以《論語》為代表。法家則以《管子》為代表。
第三章分析戰國時期的將道思想。兵家以《吳子》、《六韜》為主。儒家以《荀子》為主。法家則以《商君書》為主。藉由分析春秋至戰國時期兵家、儒家與法家的將道思想，充分掌握此一時期將道思想及其轉變。
第四章則對先秦兵家、儒家與法家的將道思想進行創造性轉化。在當前戰略環境中找不到位置的元素，予以揚棄；值得改造、可以改造的元素，在保持其特性的基礎下，在現代戰略環境中定位，轉化為有利於當前戰爭環境的概念。

This dissertation is discussing the generalship in the era of spring and autumn and warring states and its transformation in modern times. There are four objectives in this dissertation. First, the dissertation will examine the transition of strategic environment from the era of Spring and Autumn and Warring States, and its influence on the transition of the generalship. Second, this dissertation will analyze the features and developmental trends of modern warfare. It will become the foundation of the transformation of generalship from the era of Spring and Autumn to Warring States. Third, this dissertation will define the definition of generalship. It will also analyze the generalship of Military Strategist, Confucianism and Legalism from the era of Spring and Autumn to Warring States. Finally, the dissertation will conduct the creative transformation for the generalship of Military Strategist, Confucianism and Legalism.
The full text comes into four chapters in additional to introduction and conclusion. The main of each are as follows. Chapter 1 will analyze the transition of strategic environment from the era of Spring and Autumn to Warring States. It will also examine the features and developmental trends of modern warfare. Chapter 2 and 3 will examine the generalship of The Methods of the Sima,Sun Tzu, Wu Zi, Six Secret Teachings, Analects,Xun Kuang, Guan Zi and the Book of Lord Shang. In chapter 4, It will conduct the creative transformation for those books.
