在墨西哥，教師們要任職首先必須先加入工會，才能夠有任職及升遷機會，因此墨西哥的教師工會可說是掌握了極大的權力。而墨西哥國內存在著兩大教師工會 SNTE 與 CNTE，SNTE 為拉丁美洲最為龐大的工會組織，而 CNTE 則為墨西哥南部地區的激進派反政府教師另組而成。
2013 年起墨西哥教師們在各地發起大型抗議運動，起因是源於 2012 年的新任總統培尼亞所頒布的教育改革法案。此項教育改革不只影響了教師們的權益，其法案的實施背後更有著墨西哥不同政黨間的政治角力對抗因素。
本文從社團主義探討政府對教師工會之推動成立歷程，以及教師工會在不同政府的執政時期中與其關係互動。而時至今日，教師工會與政治間都有著深深的關聯。

In Mexico, teachers must first join the union in order to be eligible for employment and promotion. As a result, teachers' unions in Mexico can be said to wield a great deal of power. There are two major teachers' unions in Mexico, SNTE and CNTE. SNTE is the largest union in Latin America, while CNTE was organised as a teachers' union by radical teachers in southern Mexico.
In 2013, Mexican teachers began a major protest movement in various parts of the country as a result of the education reform that promulgated by the new president Peña Nieto in 2012. The education reform does not only affect the rights of teachers, but also represents a political confrontation between different political parties in Mexico.
This thesis examines the history of the government's promotion of teachers' unions and their interaction with different governments during their time in power. The relationship between teachers' unions and politics is deeply intertwined to this day.
