本篇技術報告是在英業達企業實習,並記錄在實習過程中的所聞所見。本篇技術報告包含英業達企業相關介紹、實習內容與心得、對於Modern Standby的探討等。在實習中學習到BIOS相關技術、參與產品的開發,收穫良多也對於自己有更多的了解。Modern Standby的概念是由微軟所提出,比傳統S3待命有更好的使用者體驗。要達到Modern Standby的條件需要軟體、韌體與硬體的配合,BIOS透過ACPI與作業系統控制整體系統的電源管理。Modern Standby將會成為主要的待命模式。
Abstract (in English)
The technical report is about my experience when interning at Inventec. The technical report contains the introduction of Inventec, internship experience, and the study on Modern Standby. During the internship, I learned about BIOS related technologies and participated in the development of products. I also have a better understanding of myself. The concept of Modern Standby was proposed by Microsoft to provide a better user experience than the traditional S3 Standby. To achieve Modern Standby requires software, firmware, and hardware. The BIOS controls the power management of the entire system through ACPI and the operating system. Modern Standby will replace the traditional standby mode nowadays.
