本研究利用「天堂II」此一線上遊戲深入探討虛擬社群成員間的信任以及自我揭露;信任的因素可分為正直、忠誠、能力、開放、一致、關懷。而自我揭露方面乃是利用五個構面來衡量,分別是誠實、動機、自信、深度、數量,本研究便以此五個構面作為我們分析自我揭露的五個因素;本研究並建立「自我揭露的時機」時間變數,企圖找出各統計變數對自我揭露時機的影響。
取樣對象是參與「天堂二」線上遊戲的成員,取樣方法採用網路問卷,正式問卷共計30天回收624份問卷,有效問卷樣本共計552份。
研究結果顯示:樣本男女性比例為6:4,且遊戲人口教育程度多為大學(學院),最大職業族群是服務業,年齡多為26〜30歲。多變量變異數分析結果顯示線上遊戲玩家的性別、教育程度、年齡都對線上遊戲玩家間信任因素存在顯著差異,線上遊戲玩家的性別和年齡對線上遊戲玩家間自我揭露因素存在顯著差異;相關分析結果顯示信任與自我揭露變數間存在相關;多元回歸結果顯示人口統計變數、信任因素、自我揭露因素皆對自我揭露的時機存在顯著影響。
英文摘要
The purpose of the research was to explore the relationships between trust and self-disclosure amount members of a virtual community using the online game of “Lineage II”. Trust is generally composed of six items, namely, integrity , consistency, loyalty, ability, openness, and benevolence, whereas self-disclosure consists of five items, including honest intent, positivness, amount, and depth. The research also examined the timing of self-disclosure and its association with demographics of the community members.

The research relied on the virtual community as its population to draw the sample. 624 returns were received within a period of 30 days. Of which 552 were deemed complete and good ones and were used for the statistical analyses.

The results of the study revealed that 1) the proportions of men and women were 6:4; 2) the largest block of players was in the age group of 26-30; and 3) most of the members were college graduates and worked in the service industry.

Results of the MNAOVA analysis showed that the online game players’ sex, education attainment, and age all made difference in terms of trust and self-disclosure. While there was a moderate and positive correlation between trust and self-disclosure, a regression analysis discovered that demographic parameters, trust, and self-disclosure all had their contributions toward the self-disclosure timing.
