After the Industrial Revolution, the reliance on labor in mass production has been greatly reduced. The surge in energy consumption due to the dependence on machineries has contributed to the increased emission of greenhouse gases. To combat global warming, the usage of renewable green energy must be promoted. Statistics from the International Energy Agency (IEA) showed that renewables have surpassed coal as the largest source of installed power capacity in the world with about half a million solar panels being installed every day around the world. At the same times, Taiwanese government has planned to pursue the gradual abolition of nuclear plants. For the above reasons, solar energy is best way to solve power shortages. With the rise of green awareness in using green energy, this study applies Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate consumer intention and attitude in the purchase of solar energy equipment. By exploring consumer purchasing behavior through their usage attitude, we are able to hypothesize the electricity price trend and green awareness in order to deduce the relationship between usage attitude and purchasing behavior. The results show that the electricity price trend and green awareness can significantly affect usage attitude and purchasing behavior in the TAM.
