The purposes of this research was to examine the relationships among fear of missing out (FoMO) and social media addiction in college students of different attachment styles. In this study, the questionnaire survey method was used and final data analysis included 585 college students from two private universities in Taipei and Taichung. The measurements used in this study were Adult Attachment Style, Fear of Missing Out Scale (FOMOs) and Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS).The data were statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tests , one-way ANOVAs and Pearson’s product-moment correlation.

The main findings were discussed as follows:
1.Most college students belonged to the preoccupied attachment style, while fearful attachment were the least.
2.The degree of FoMO of college students was shown to be moderate, and the score of subscale of "belongingness/relatedness" was the highest. This showed that college students paid more attention to basic psychological need.
3.The degree of social media addiction was moderate. It has been speculated that college students can control to their urge to use social media and make behavioral adjustments.
4.In the degree of FoMO, there were no significant differences in gender and grade, but there was a significant difference among different attachment styles. The FoMO of the preoccupied attachment was significantly higher than that of the secure attachment.
5.In social media addiction, there were no significant differences in gender and attachment styles, but there was a significant difference among various romantic relationship statues.
6.High correlation was found between FoMO and social media addiction around .502.It implied that when users experienced a higher degree of FoMO, they were more likely to have higher social media addiction scores.

According to research findings mentioned above, the research has proposed some directions and practical suggestions for future research and practical advice.
