In the introduction, this research refers to the promotion and transformation of picture status and demand in the era of reading pictures, which leads to the formation of picture book.
In the second chapter, this research defines the " picture book ". Apart from defining the picture book in the narrow sense, which is not just a " book type " but also a " creative genre ", also proposed the " three-point limit " and " three-point freedom " principle. Respectively of text-picture relations limit, text-picture original limit, text-picture nature limit, reading object freedom, theme style freedom and creative form freedom.
In the third chapter, this research has compiled the history of the development of Taiwanese picture book. With the migration of the creation platform as the basis for staging, it is divided into three periods: the supplement, the online blog and the community website fan page. At the same time, discuss the possible impact of the transfer of the creative platform on the creation of the picture book itself.
In the fourth chapter, this research talks about the relationship and characteristics of the picture and text, and finally draws the following conclusions: First, the picture and text belong to different cultural systems, and the key feature of the picture book is based on the collision and interaction between the two. Second, the cognition of picture and text will be different due to the difference of viewers. The difference in traits between picture and text also causes differences in expression and reading perception. Third, the picture and the text can't compare which is better or worse, but the things that are good at expressing are different. Fourth, the appearance of picture books has created a " complementary " relationship between picture and word. Fifth, from the relationship between picture and word, it can be seen that the appearance of picture book represents a change in the meaning of images, words and even books, which has the significance of the times.
In the fifth chapter, this research discusses the text-picture performance of Taiwanese picture books. And using the inductive research method to divide it into three categories: use text-picture traits to extend meaning, use text-picture traits to facilitate reading and text combined with picture traits, and picture meaning extension, text meaning extension, picture and text meaning difference, picture and text meaning combination, picture and text express itself and make text like picture six small type.
In the sixth chapter, this research discusses six external factors that affect the development of Taiwanese picture book, namely: layout design, delivery speed and scope, platform size, creator identity, reader influence, and publisher involvement. And put forward the issue of the " fast-food phenomenon " and the future development platform.
Finally, this research confirms that the picture book has some value, namely: The picture book is an inevitable creation genre in the era of reading pictures, which has the significance of the times. It not only represents the meaning of integrating picture and text, but also an important example of cooperation between picture and texts. Its emergence helps people reposition the value of the picture, and it also represents a redefinition and innovation of the text creation system. The picture book overturns the established impressions and norms of books, reading, publishing, and creation, and represents the arrival of the new reading era.
