1997年在中共十五大提出「走出去」戰略之後，其經濟的崛起影響了全球政經秩序與格局。由於國家經濟發展對原物料的大量需求，因此擴展到遙遠的西半球，也就是眾人皆知的美國後院－拉丁美洲。
　　中國大陸與巴西同屬金磚五國集團(BRICS)，兩國長期以來提倡南南合作並對拉丁美洲國家進行拉攏。巴西作為拉丁美洲和加勒比海地區的區域大國，具有較為完整的工業體系和先進科技，因此巴西也是中國大陸在拉美地區立穩腳跟的關鍵國。
　　當前中巴兩國關係反映在密切的經貿互動，中國大陸被稱為「世界工廠」，巴西則被稱為「世界原料基地」，兩國除了擁有廣闊的市場之外，經濟的高度互補性也提供了經貿合作的廣大空間。自2009年以來，中國大陸成為巴西第一大貿易夥伴國，並在2012年兩國升級成全面戰略夥伴關係的最高層次。
　　本論文統整自2003年迄至2016年止，研究崛起中國大陸與巴西之經貿關係。從國際政治經濟學的研究視角分析貿易、投資以及金融三個面向，研究發現中巴西經貿關係實際上並不符合南南合作關係，反而傾向南北關係。

1997, after the 15th National Congress of Communist Party of People’s Republic of China (PRC) launched the “Going Out” policy, its economic rise changed the global political and economic order. PRC needs energy, minerals and other raw materials to drive its rapid economic development and industrialization, therefore it expands to the distant Western Hemisphere, that is, the Latin America, known as the backyard of United States of America.
  PRC and Brazil are members of BRICS, both countries advocate “South-South Cooperation”, and promote it in Latin America. As a regional power, Brazil, has a relatively advanced industrial sector and modern technology, thus Brazil plays a fundamental role in establishing PRC’s influence in Latin America.
  The current Sino-Brazilian relations reflects on the close trade and economic interaction. While PRC is called “The World’s Factory”, meanwhile Brazil is considered “The World’s Raw Material Base”, besides their broad markets, the high degree of economic complementarity brings the potential economic cooperation and the further dimension to the partnership between two countries. In 2009, PRC started becoming the Brazil’s biggest trade partner, and in 2012, two countries upgraded their ties to the highest level “Sino-Brazilian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”.
  This study analyzes Sino-Brazilian trade and economic relations in terms of trade, foreign direct investment (FDI) and finance from 2003 to 2016, viewd from the international political economy perspective. The study found that Sino-Brazilian trade and economic relations do not conform the South-South relations, but tend toward North-South relations.
